Collateral Examples
I picked both of these examples because they demonstrate effective use of a single theme throughout several different forms of media. The use of a uniform theme creates cohesive and professional looking advertising tools including brochure, pamphlets, and business cards

1/18 Class Reflection
Today I added a texture to the background of my yearbook cover. Also, we created a phone case using modes and alphas. We were able to combine several textures and graphics in order to create some really original and unique designs. Finally, we made a web gallery to display all of our work.
1/17 Class Reflection
Today I finished my yearbook cover! I had a hard time making the clapper. To make the striped part, I had to use a striped gradient and adjust the angle and scale. I also picked out a custom font to write on the clapper. I think overall I really like my cover!
1/16 Class Reflection
Today I started working on my yearbook cover. I had to redo my cover several times because I was having a difficult time coming up with an idea. Finally I decided to use Ms. Debbie's Thunderduck Grammy Award and create a spot light for the back cover. Tomorrow I plan on making a movie clapper for the front cover.

11/15 Class Reflection
I missed class this day because I live really far away and my parents weren't comfortable with me driving in the poor weather conditions. Later in the day, after the snow and ice had melted, I went shopping though!! Did you know Victoria's Secret extended its Semi-Annual sale and a lot of post-Holiday sales are still happening?
11/14 Class Reflection
Monday we took pictures to recreate a movie poster. I chose to recreate the Forrest Gump movie poster. I used David to replace Tom Hanks on the cover. We found a bench near a wall in the breezeway. Luckily we were able to move it away from the wall in order to take the picture from behind. After taking the picture, I had to adjust the brightness and saturation. I also had to create a shadow.

1/11 Class Reflection
Today we finished our study on balance. We completed the symmetrical and asymmetrical photos. For the asymmetrical photo we used the pen tool to create an interesting path for text. On the symmetrical photo, we selected the object and created a text path around it for text.
1/10 Class Reflection
Yesterday we focused on the different types of balance: symmetrical, asymmetrical, and radial. We took a picture of each example and then began to add text. For the radial example, we created elliptical text paths around our face. There was a minimum of 3 paths and the text got increasingly larger as it got further from the face. A lot of people had trouble creating and editing the multiple text paths. To overcome the problems other people were having, I made and edited each path one at a time rather than creating all of them and going back to edit.

1/9 Class Reflection
Yesterday we worked with Color Pop. We reviewed the rules of complimentary colors. Colors that are complimentary to each other look more vibrant and lively when paired together. We were assigned to make a pamphlet cover for Student Life using bright and vibrant colors, 2 or more photos, filters, a custom font, shape layers, and the title "Student Life". The most important concept was to design a cover that was eye catching and appealing.

1/8 Class Reflection
Today we learned about the composition and effect of high key and low key images. Hi key images are composed with white on white and portray a happier tone. Low key images are composed with black on black and are more mysterious and grave.
1/7 Classwork Reflection
Yesterday we used a variety of correctional tools to touch up a photo of a women. The tools included the dodge, burn, and sponge tools, spot healing and healing brushes, patch tool, and liquify. These tools adjusted color, saturation, corrected imperfections, and modified physical features. It is important not to modify the subject to such an extent that they do not resemble the original or look unreal. Photoshop users should make slight adjustments to approve appearance, rather than completely alter the image.
